Nigerian pilot, Ademilola Odujinrin, makes history as first African to fly the world solo
A Nigerian pilot identified as Ademilola Odujinrin, has made history by becoming the first African pilot to complete a solo flight around the world.
Odujinrin completed the final leg of his historic trip on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, after landing safely at the Washington Dulles International Airport, where he had started the first leg on his trip in September, 2016. Odujinrin who is a pilot of Air Djibouti, embarked on the second leg of his historic flight, on October 14, 2016, when he flew to Malta, enroute to Djibouti.
Odujinrin flew around in a Cirrus SR22 aircraft, stopping over in over 15 countries across 5 continents. Odujinrin's historic flight was part of a Project Transcend foundation's move, which they hope would inspire young people to achieve their goals, irrespective of the circumstances they find themselves in.
Speaking on his latest achievement, Odujinrin who has logged in over 4,000 hours as a commercial Boeing 737 pilot since earning his pilot licence six years ago, said: “Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of one day flying around the world. We have a responsibility to lead by example and follow our dreams. I want African children to think: ‘I can do this too!' I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Air Djibouti’s Chairman, Aboubaker Omar Hadi, and Cardiff Aviation’s Chairman, Bruce Dickinson, who have supported me throughout this journey. Without them, this would not have been possible.”
Air Djibouti's chairman Aboubaker Omar Hadi and Cardiff Aviation's chairman Bruce Dickinson, were part of the high-profile delegation that welcomed Odujinrin at the airport on his return. Others include the Ambassador of Djibouti to the United States, His Excellency, Mr. Mohamed Siad Doualeh; Senior Director of Strategic Planning for Djibouti Ports & Free Zones Authority, Mr. Dawit Michael Gebre-ab; and Chief Operating Officer of Air Djibouti, Mr. Moussa Houssein. The CEO of Africa World Press, plans to publish a book about the historic flight.

NIGERIA THE UNLUCKY WOMAN

Gracious woman, an epitome of beauty, a woman who was created with so much resources and talents. She is so blessed because of the anointing of prosperity that is upon her forehead. Because of her good heart, God almighty blessed her with a lot of natural resources. From coal to iron, aluminum, crude oil, precious stones of many types, be it gold, cement etc. With vast fertile land in which agriculture could be made easy, her children will not look for food, timber, rubber, coco etc. She is beautified by drinkable waters from the rank of streams to spring, lake and rivers. In these waters, her children will never lack any type of sea foods. No crop or grain will not germinate in her land; All you need to do is to try somewhere else. She was rich in culture; her religion was and is still love and care.   But she was so unlucky. As a bride she was forced to marry a man that hates her so much. A man that is equal to a “monster” because he had no brain nor integrity or conscienc...

NIGERIA THE UNLUCKY WOMAN-2

MEDIA HOUSE, when you look at what the media is doing in some other countries, how powerful they are in challenging their government’s bad policies, in promoting the interest of their country, citizens and contributing to the overall economy and growth of every aspect of their country, you begin to imagine what is actually wrong with our own media house? When you hear media names like C.N.N, B.B.C you will weep for NIGERIA! You may be forced to ask if media have different meaning for different countries. In some other countries media is a powerful tool in the hands of public through which they express their agony, joy, and other feelings they may have against the government or for the government. But in Nigeria the case is different, her media is so powerless that a journalist could be arrested and jailed without trial, some will even be killed. You will only see it on flash news and it ends there.   Nothing more!!   Police on their own side, who are suppose to be pro...
